Carlos Vielma

Graduado como arquitecto, Carlos Vielma es un artista visual mexicano. Su obra en pintura, video e instalación aborda temas como la migración, el paisaje y sus monumentos, y la frontera entre Estados Unidos y México. Ha participado en varios programas de residencia, incluyendo Skowhegan School of Painting & Sculpture en Maine, the Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts en Nebraska, la Universidad Nacional de Colombia en Bogotá y the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity en Canadá, entre otros. Vielma ha expuesto su obra en instituciones como el Museum of Fine Arts en Houston Texas, donde fue becario de The Core Program entre 2023 y 2025. También ha expuesto en el MARCO, Museo de Arte Contemporáneo  de Monterrey, el Museo Anahuacalli y Tokyo Arts and Space, en Japón. Sus obras forman parte de colecciones como la Servais Familly Collection, la Colección Fundación Casa Wabi y el Estado Mexicano, que lo ha distinguido como miembro del Sistema Nacional de Creadores de Arte (SNCA) en 2019 y 2025.

Graduated as an architect, Carlos Vielma is a Mexican visual artist. His work in painting, video, and installation deals with subjects like migration, the landscape and its monuments, and the US-Mexico border. He has participated in several residency programs, including the Skowhegan School of Painting & Sculpture in Maine, the Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts in Nebraska, the Universidad Nacional de Colombia in Bogotá, and the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity in Canada, among others. Vielma has exhibited his work at institutions such as the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston where he was part of The Core Program between 2023 and 2025, also in Marco Museo de Arte Contemporaneo de Monterrey, Museo Anahuacalli, and Tokyo Arts and Space, among others. His works are part of collections including the Servais Family Collection, Colección Fundación Casa Wabi, and the Mexican State, which recently honored him with a membership in the National System of Art Creators (SNCA) in 2019 and 2025.
